This is a hard post to write. I have been living a lie for a long time, and I’m finally cheating. I have the added shame of knowing it feels so right, and that I’m not sorry. I have a new blog and this is it. My ex-blog, Laurin and Kelly Talk, is still around, but I’m not writing there anymore.
See, Kelly left me. A long, long time ago. I tried to carry on but my heart just wasn’t in it. I was going through the motions because it was just me talking, not us.
Kelly is one of my dearest friends in the world. We talk nearly every day, but she doesn’t have time to blog. She is off running her new company, becoming a real estate mogul. I understand completely, don’t get me wrong. Writing is my passion, not hers, and I may have forced her at gunpoint to start blogging with me anyway.
So, I have taken up with a new blog. I hope you like it because I am in love with it. It was designed by my friend and writing badass, Maria. Do you know her? You should. And if you like being entertained and titillated on Twitter, you really should.
This fresh start is bittersweet. It took me an entire week once this new place was ready to write this first post. As you can see, I brought some owls with me so it feels like home. I know I could have stayed with the old blog and changed the name, but I think that would have been confusing for everyone ultimately.
I am excited by what the future holds, but I still miss my ex. I loved that blog. I might just keep it there forever.
I love it Laurin! We can scratch our way back into the ranks together!

Congrats on the new space. I know the feeling. I have an old space we don't talk about. I still visit. I post occasionally, but mostly, I live on my new blog now. The old one doesn't quite fit anymore. It feels weird, but there it is.
